Honeymoon trip

Hello everyone, My name is Mike.

I am getting married this weekend and just purchased a 660 for my honeymoon trip to Hawaii. I am not new to the forum world but I am new to this type of technology so let me apologize in advance as I am sure these questions have been asked many times before (I did search and read the FAQs page).

I would like to get the maps of Hawaii so I can load the address of the hotels and airports in advance but I am not sure where to start. i.e. Is Hawaii already loaded in my unit, where can I get the maps, do I need any special hardware/software, etc.

Thank you in advance and I look forward to spending some time around the forum,

Mike

Hawaii should be already

Hawaii should be already loaded on your GPS.

Hawaii

Use the near mode on your unit and pick the cities you plan to be in.Save locations to your favorities. That way you can just delete them when you get back.Have a nice trip to Hawaii. We were there 2 years ago on a cruise. We visit several Islands. It is beautiful there.Make sure you visit the Pearl Harbor Memorial. It is a very moving experience.

Map already build in

Map of Hawaii is build in already but you can't get lost in Hawaii since the islands are small.

There are some big cities

Honolulu has freeways and ramps just like any other big city. And so many of the street names are hard to pronounce! Many years ago I struggled with written directions and my wife as copilot. By the time she would get one of those 13-vowel street names pronounced, I would have already passed the turn. Would have loved to have had a GPS then! And I would love to hear how Nuvi Jill will try to pronounce them. smile Actually, I just changed locations and simulated a drive through downtown Honolulu. Jill actually did a pretty good job! Totally lost it on Kamehameha IV Drive, though. She pronounced it as comma-comma-huh.
