I will have JM set up a POI File titled Boat Ramps and anyone that wants to help can be added as a contributor.
cool that would be great ill give you lots from all over the country being a tournament fisherman i know some local one as well and some out of the way ones that eople dont even know about just take a few days to get some of them out of my old gps's thanks for the site wish they had somthing like this when i started using gps about 15 years ago an their were no backgroud maps and what they did have whas very crude
Ps. whats the best format to send them to you in new to this adding them with files only way I know to do it is by punching in the coordinates
We have a screen that you can use to type in coordinates for the boat ramps file.
I'll enable access for your account and send you a link via email.
jhfr will be adding locations near Brevard County, Florida.
I have some boat ramp poi's for Falls and Jordon lakes in NC.
Nevermind, I see someone has already posted them.
Next time I go up to Lake travis I'll update a couple boat ramp locations that are there! There are not that many but hopefully it will help!
I have been uploading POI's for boat ramps in the Seattle area. I notice they dont appear on the main page? Is there some proofing or a delay? Or am I doing something wrong?
If you go to this page: http://www.poi-factory.com/poifiles and scroll down you will see the US Boat Ramps - Active Project in the recently updated area. Thanks for adding your locations, it really helps.
I would really like to help with this because im a tournment fisherman and i have friends that could help too. i can start with lake anna virginia and i have others that i can give too.
All of the boat ramps that are on the cold side of lake anna have been added. All of these ramps one must pay for launch.
Im currently looking up the information for all of the other ramps that I have used in Virginia and adding them when I have time.
You might want to check out this file.
I already have that file, those are only the ramps that are run by the virginia dept of game. I will add them if you give me permission. im just adding ramps that i have used in the past.
ok currently im tapped out as it comes to all of the boat ramps that i have used in virginia, but i will start asking friends and family to try and get more for you boaters out there. some of the ramps that i uploaded have special notes attached to them.
In the western US, we float a lot of rivers where you always wonder how close you are getting to the takeout. I think it would be great to have seperate projects for Rivers, Lakes and Saltwater as each has its own issues.
I would be happy to help with a Rivers projects as I already have many - but need some direction to get this info sent up correctly for the site here.
There are several books, including 2 detailed for WA and OR by Frank Amato Publications but they only give general location of the ramps.
I would have to agree, it wouldnt be that difficult to divide this project up 3-4 ways.
I've mapped Olympia and am working on Tacoma and some outlying areas. Once I figure out the software (I just received it a week or so ago) I'll submit it.
I have been working on a file for Oregon boat ramps if you would like the information.
Let me know how I can help out.
I will be working on this project this week. I need to get the page updated and get the file out of the Database system that we have now discontinued. I have added the most recent updates as a file attachment on the bottom of the page.
Thanks for you patience regarding this file.
