Custom POI Symbol Help

OK, I got all my custom POI's (gpx format), custom alert sounds, and custom symbols all created and stored on the pc. I can transfer them to the Zumo via the POI loader and they work fine.
When I attempt to transfer them from the Zumo to mapsource, none show up. All that transfers are the waypoints displayed in favorites on the Zumo.
I can get all the POI's into mapsouce by having mapsouce open the POI gpx file, but loose my custom symbols.
How can I get mapsouce to display my custom symbols or at least allow me to assign my custom symbols to the POI's I install?

Your Custom POIs will NOT transfer from your GPS unit into MapSource.

You also cannot load custom icons from your bmp files into MapSource the way you can for your Custom POIs.

There's a way to do it with xImage, but it's complicated. And they won't transfer back to the Zumo anyway.

Here are some discussions.

Are you really sure that you want all those Custom POIs to be loaded into your Waypoints tab everytime you use MapSource? Wouldn't it be easier to just open the GPX file you want in MapSource and copy and paste just the ones you want to deal with?

I am bumfuzzled enough

Thanks for your quick response. Not even going to attempt anything more complex. Yes you are correct in my not wanting all the POI's in each map. I only wanted to add the ones that would be needed when they are needed, just wanted to use my "custom" icons instead of the mapsource standards.

Here's what I would suggest.

First of all, forget about the Custom Icons in MapSource. It's too much trouble.

Second, open MapSource. Now, with that instance of MapSource still open, open a second instance of MapSource. In that second instance, open up the Custom POI file in which you are interested.

Highlight the POI locations you want to include. Select Copy. Now, go to the first instance of MapSource and in the tabs on the left right click and select Paste.

Repeat as needed until you get the ones you want in that MapSource. Now, SAVE this MapSource and use it as your base template. Use the base template when you start creating routes making sure to name it something else.

You read my mind

Thats exactly what I have been doing, I just wanted to use my own icons but guess thats not going to happen.
Thank you for your help.
