New 650 user and so far I really like the unit. I was wondering about one thing though. As I’m driving I notice many POIs and I was wondering if there is any screen or list available to show what these places are? I mean other then going under Menu – Where to - Food – etc? Some are just black dots and I’m curious to know what they may be. I’ve tried tapping the POI on the screen but that doesn’t work. Is this possible or is it something I should add to the wish list?

I have wondered the same and have not been able to find a way to see what the POI icon is. I know that on the 350, if I tap the screen, it wants to save the current location.

Put the arrow on the POI for a popup
With my Nuvi 350 if I tap the screen it goes into map mode. Then if you move the pointer (not the vehicle) to the POI a little popup will show the name. Sometimes it's easier to drag the screen under the arrow than move the tiny arrow to hit the little POI icon or dot.

That works on the 650 as well. It is a bit awkward though and the interface could certainly be improved, but at least I can now find out the names of those places.

I have noticed this as well. If you zoom in it makes it a bit easier to pick them out. Problem is sometimes two or more places are so close together you can't pick them out. Also would be nice if as you traveled the names popped up. Any ides on how to make that work.
