Hey all

Just wanted to say hey from Cleveland! been a GPS user for many years. I have several that I use Navigon is my favorite now.

Love the technology, I figured if it can deliver a cruise missile 300 miles away, it can take me over the river and through the woods to my Grandma's.

I hope to stay as active as I can.

it works great. but it takes time to get the signal initialy. may be 3-5 min. is every GPS is like that or only mine?

You will find the unit

You will find the unit waiting for the signal fix to be a long period, similar to watching water boil. Actually they have gotten better with the Sirf chip sets.

Are you moving at the time? Mine seems to take forever to acquire the sattelites if I'm driving. When sitting still it usually takes about 30 - 40 seconds.

Nuvi 750

I also had one. Bought at BestBuy over the holiday. Returned it today due to longtime sat acquisition. Now have a Nuvi 660. A lot better.

Try an external antenna

Maybe you should try the optional external antenna.... I use one and it works fine for me.

Welcome, you came to the best site ever!! cool

yes i switch on and start

yes i switch on and start while moving and it take about 3 min to accure the signal. this happens if i switch off in the morning and switch back in the evening. but on the way if i switch off the gps in a rest area and switch on in few minutes it gets the signal imed like less than 30 seconds.
i don't understand the logic confused
