I have a 760, but what I can

I have a 760, but what I can do, is from the main screen, I hold my finger over the satellite strength bar for about 5 seconds, and it will show me the accuracy and the long/lat readings. Now, the accuracy will be a lot better outside than inside, of course. I know there is a more complicated way, but it takes way too many steps, from what I remember.

on the map screen, tap the

on the map screen, tap the vehicle and you should get a Current Location screen

Yep, that will do it, too.

Thanks for the suggestions. Touching the strength bar didn't work. But I will try the other ideas.

According the thread at: http://www.poi-factory.com/node/6869 and several Google-search results, it appears you can't.

But you can...

While you can't directly see your lat/long, there is a workaround that allows you to find out lat/long using your computer. There's a freeware util called EasyGPS. It will allow you to up/download your saved waypoints via USB, showing latitude/longitude and altitude and even plotting those points on a map. It's handy if you want to record several positions and then retrieve them later. This works with my c340.

I just read your post on

I just read your post on tapping on the vehicle to see your current location. I have a Nuvi 200 and it does the same thing, showing the longitude and latitude and the elevation.

I am just amazed that Garmin's products are so great, but that their documentation is so bad. They really need to spend some money and hire some technical writers to fix their documentation problems.

Thanks for the information.

I know for sure that with

I know for sure that with the c530 and c550, you can't get the lat and long directly from the GPSr screen. So I am assuming the c580 is the same.

OK. Here is another way on the 760. Hit Where to,then scroll down and hit Coordinates. I knew there was another way. DOn't know if your unit has Where to, but if it does, maybe it will work.
