Okay, first and foremost... Im a Macintosh user.... I finally figured out how to download POIs. Then, frustrated that they werent showing up in the Garmin. DUH - Extras .... So I found them, and thought that the BMIs would pop up a little logo when I was close to a POI... but no. All I get is a grey dot, which I assume is the Garmin default. IS that what it does ? Surely not. Surely there is someplace where if I place the bmi files... a little barnes and noble icon appears on my screen in the place of a grey dot... My question is... where do I place the bmi files ? And, I noticed that they need to have the same name attached to the bmi as the poi
ie. Oddplaces.csv and oddplaces.bmi
Help... I feel like it supposed to be easy..and yet..Im stymied.

Icons use .bmp files
Per your example it should be:
ie. Oddplaces.csv and oddplaces.bmp

Also, be sure to use the same case in both. And place them both in the same folder.

didn't realize that it's case sensitve 'coz I usually cut & paste the file names, to make sure I don't make a typo and go Arrgghh......

I cant even find the folder for "extras" and the POI folder doesnt have the ones I downloaded in it...

Create a folder such as POI-folder. Download the poi-file.csv and icons.bmp into the POI-folder. Rename the icon.bmp to poi-file.bmp. Run POI Loader and point it to the POI-folder.
