card directories

I put the MP3s and POIs in subfolders. Can't remember about the MP3s, but there is a one level restriction on POIs and subfolders. In other words, you can only have one level of subfolders...example

Speed Cameras
-->VA
-->NC

Can't have...
Speed Cameras
-->VA
--->Richmond
--->Charlottesville
-->NC

Just don't put the MP3s in the root directory. Create a folder for them.

I have taken out the manual, extra vehicles, extra voices, etc from my Nuvi (backed them up to my PC). I then have placed my POI's in the Nuvi's memory. Seems to be quicker access. Memory is quicker than a hard-drive. There is plenty of room in memory if you delete the above. I have over 200,000 poi's with no problem. My POI's on my PC look like this:

POI <--main directory
Gas <-- subdirectory
Restaurants <-- subdirectory
etc.

As for the SD card, I place both music and pictures in it. I created a main directory for Music and a main directory for Pictures. All music and pictures are then placed into those directories. It wouldn't make sense to place music in separate sub-directories since the GPS doesn't have structure for playing certain Genre or other things like maybe MusicMatch Jukebox on your PC.
