maps update

First off, I know I dont have a garmin reciever but I do have garmin software/maps and the "other" forum doesnt get much action.... so I'm posting my question here....

Anyway, I have City Navigator NT, North America v7 loaded right now. I have been searching for v8 to no avail. I have found update 2008 all over the place but cant seem to find _v8_. Also, on garmin's website for "kenwood updates" it lists the part # as 010-10679-10 . The closest I can find is 010-10679-_00_. Is this going to be the same software or is it going to be reciever specific?

ps. I have had my unit for about 1.5 yrs and just found this site last week.... it has enlightened me of potential I never new my GPS had. Thanks to everyone here.

I just now noticed the search bar at the top of the page. It kind of blends into the background color...

Even still I'm skeptical of those search bars. Usually end up searching google or something and not the forum...(I tried it and it worked properly)

Thanks again for the link. Now that I see the search box, I'll be sure to use it.
