Splash Screens

In one of the other discussions Miss POI mentioned the possibility of new downloads such as vehicles and splash screens (I look forward to that).

Anyway, I use several different splash screen, some functional, some cosmetic.
I have screens with my signature, my initials, my initials using naval signal flags, one of the American flag. I change them as the mood strikes.

For long trips I have a screen with my some XM channels not set to a preset. Another has radio stations for the areas I travel through.

Spalsh Screens

I would be interested in knowing more about the splash screens and how to make new ones. How do they work?

I think they just show up

I think they just show up when you turn it on but Im not sure.

Splash Screens (cont.)

I can only speak for the 660. The splash screens are put into the JPEG directory. I made mine by scanning my signature and initials. Others I made in MS Paint and couple of others were indvivual jpegs that are merged into one.
