I like to go to Amazon.com. There you can get customer reviews from multiple owners, with a variety of experience and expertise.

I've used both Garmin, TOMTOM and LG. I prefer LG.

In any case....here is something to ponder at:

Just remember that

Just remember that gpsmagazine.com is a garmin/navteq shill site. i've used the nuvi 350 (ranked #4) and, although it's easy to use, my TomTom 920 is just as easy to use and has WAY more features than any of the nuvis, even the 7xx series...

Thanks for all your inputs

I decided to go with Tomtom as my first low end GPS. Mainly decided to go with it because at least I can update map, add new map and add more POI, these are not possible using Mageline 3200.

http://www.gpsreview.net will give you very interactive discussion forums that have many balanced viewpoints. You can learn there much about the LE (a model exclusive to Best Buy), other TT's, and most other GPS models, especially Garmin and Magellan.

There have been many a recent discussion about the LE on those boards.

Check it out. Ask questions. Many there will be able provide you with answers (and quick replies) to your specific questions.

good luck! smile

I just bought the TomTom One

I just bought the TomTom One LE [is my first GPS] and i am happy with it. I read a lot of review of people having to update it first but i opened mine right outside bestbuy, took 3 mins to config and told it to take me home -- which it did.

The one thing i did NOT like, was that after i did all the updates, the US map went bad and the tomtom would just keep restarting -- luckily i made a backup before I did any updating so I restored it with no problem.

I'm getting a bluetooth phone to test the handsfree dialing and traffic that it supposedly does.

Other that, i love it so far.
