Male Voice for Nuvi 200

You should have one for it already, if not see if it is available on the webupdater.

Found this link to Garmin voices, but not sure if they are compatible with the 200.
They appear to be for the text to speech nuvis.

Actually, I think that they are for the StreetPilot 2720, since the title said, "StreetPilot 2720 GPS Updates & Downloads". But they probably would work on the nuvis, but not sure. TTS definately wouldn't work on the 200

The nüvi 200 is not TTS capable. The male voice that I remember seeing was a third party replacement for the standard voice and did not include TTS capability.

I agree with you that the 200 is not TTS capable and those files should not work.
Although I find it interesting that Garmin did not include a male voice for the 200.
Although Sally (my wife named it)my 200 would like to try a male voice.

I downloaded a male voice for the 200, but don't remember where I got it. I will search and reply if I find the info.

Thank you gdfaina for your persistance I appreciate this.
I downloaded it to my nuvi 200 after deleting 3 voices to make room,my nuvi is backed up on my computer in case of a problem.
I then ran the nuvi 200 in simulation mode to check the male voice and it seems to be just fine.

Which voices did you delete? I thought it would just replace the existing English voice and not need additional space.

It gave me the message of not enough room to just copy over. So I deleted the first three voices (afrikan 1103KB, arabic 975KB, and Bulgarian 1021KB). It then took the male voice file which weighed in at 3466KB, which appears three times the size of any of the voices on the 200.

If it's that big it must be TTS capable.

Well the thread says not TTS capable and it works on my 200. But it is a big file compared to the other voice files on my nuvi.

I wonder if there is a loop hole like the c530 had.

The link referenced by yoyoche, above leads to Voices for the Street Pilot 2720. It is an aplication and not a voice file.

Look at Post 17 by Kevin227. That is the male voice file I used on my nuvi 200.

I just went through that entire thread and there was not a link to the male vpm file (non-TTS).
