New Vehicles For Nuvi Owners

Has anyone gone to Garmin Garage and downloaded some of the vehicles there? I tried this, following their directions..and it appeared to download, but....

I cannot find them on my Nuvi 360? Does anyone have a "clearer" explanation of how to download some of the snazzy vehicles?

I have downloaded them

I downloaded them to my computer you then have to transfer them into your vehicle folder I used windows explorer to transfer them over to the vehicle folder on my Nuvi. They all seem to work just fine.

webupdater

webupdater works well too.

I first tried my webupdater

I first tried my webupdater several times and that did not load the vehicles on my Nuvi, I then went back to the page and copied them to my computer. Then did the drag to the folder.

Ah Ha! I Think I've Got it!

I tried Webupdater, too, without success. At first I was going to respond, "What folder on the Nuvi?", then realized, when you attach the Nuvi via the USB, it reads it like another drive.

Well the Nuvi is in the car, right now, but I will try that idea tomorrow. Thanks, folks. I am sure that will work. Cheers.

Nuvi Autos

I am new to GPS. Just purchased my NUVI 705 a few weeks ago. For adding vehicles I saved them to a folder on my hard drive and moved over the vehicles I wanted. Their is an article on the Garmin website that explains the process. Very simple, unit is in the car right now, but I believe it was a auto folder on the nuvi.

Don't leave it in the car

That is your first issue, never leave the GPSr in the car. It could be stolen!

I have to agree.

If you want to keep your Nuvi, take it with you, find a holder that it fits in there are some that fit exactly and go on your belt. One of the main items stolen are GPS. FYI

Stealing? In My Town?

Ha! I live in a little village 40 miles north of Toronto. Would somebody steal from me? Well, actually, I had a wallet taken out of my glove box. Then there was the time I watched my wife's brand new van driving down the driveway at 3:00 in the morning. Sheesh. You would think I would learn.

Thanks, I hate the vehicals come with my Garmin, I am using the pointer now. Now I have a lot to choose from.

Anyone know how to convert a jpeg file to srf format? I will be nice to take a picture of my car and make it an icon in my Garmin.

You can do it, but it's a lot of work.

Use Some Vehicles...Others? Not So Much

I downloaded the van, for when I transfer the Nuvi to my wife's van. Downloaded sports car for when I am in my Miata...well when spring comes, at least. Downloaded blue nosed deer. Nyaah. That wasn't so great. Same with the rocket sleigh. Went back to the regular sedan.

Had just the arrow with my c330 so I am still in the "vehicle" honeymoon period, I guess.
