Using the intersection feature

Hi,

Just upgraded from a GPSMAP 76 to a nuvi 750 and love it.

One question I have is how to enter route descriptions in the Intersections page. For example, I want to enter the intersection of I-26 and I-95 (in South Carolina) as a point on a route. It doesn't want to accept the formats I-26, I26, Interstate 26, or 26. Garmin tech support said to just enter 26, so they haven't been much help yet.

Thanks,

Tim

If I know

The city where the intersection is I can usually get away with just inputting the number as in:
Jct I-95 and I-26, I just put Rd #1 = 95, Rd #2 = 26.
On the major highways sometimes I just try the numbers without a city.
It works MOST of the time

BTW - I do have Jct I-95 & I-26 in my Favorites list but I'll be darned if I can remember how I got it . I did it over a year ago !

on the c530 i can get it by going to intersection, change state to south carolina, search all, street 1 i use 95, street 2 use 26 and then select 26 spur, and it shows I-95S and hiway 26 spur, dont know why it shows a hiway and not interstate and a spur. GEEESH, I use that 26 a lot. know exactly where your talking about.

This thread is over but

I was going to suggest trying different formats, Interstates here in TX often cant be found because they use local names, for instance Interstate 35 is known locally as "Stemmons Freeway" and it pulls up easily under "Stemmons". Other common anomalies include TX-??? highways that come up correct only if you use the dash in the middle and US-??? highways that come up only under Freeways? Go figure. That's part of the "learning curve" that you have to decipher for your area. A big help for me has been taking the time to spell out the city name and not use "search all" cities.
