Serial number for Garmin Nuvi 750

Hello All! Brand new to GPS and just got my Nuvi 750 today. Tried to register it on garmin.com, but couldn't find the serial number. When you click the drop down on the site to find your model, the 750 isn't even listed! I tried every number I could see on the unit, but none were accepted. Tried the "unit number" on the "About screen" on the unit, but that didnt work either. Has anyone else had this problem? Can anyone suggest how to find it?

When you receive your unit,

When you receive your unit, it will be accompanied with various papers, etc. In the box, somewhere, is a yellow sheet. If you look at the bottom of the sheet, you will find serial number as well as registration code in small black letter at the bottom of the page.

Strange.

Even nuvi 680 is not listed.
Wait till tomorrow and call them up.

Really, I only hit it once!

I was just now on Garmin's

I was just now on Garmin's website and saw all of the products including the 750.

Nuvi 750 Serial number

yes, all the products are listed on the site (including the 750)but when you go to the Product Registration screen, the 750 is missing. I dont a yellow paper that you referred to above. I've gone thru all the paperwork in the box. Very strange! Who'd think a serial number would be so hard to come by!? I'll give Garmin a call I guess.

look at the back of the unit

Its the number under the barcode.
Fact/

I have had 4 gps's and all

I have had 4 gps's and all have had the little yellow or golden sheet, usually hidden between something. This time it was inside the fold of the "Gamin Lock" phamplet. Look through everything very closly. If not, maybe it was left out and you need to call Garmin.

Noticed the numbers on the yellow sheet

Match the one behind the unit.

Got it! Thank you so much!

I got it. So small, I didn't see it tucked up under there. Thank you!!

Don't lose it! lol

Don't lose it! lol

serial #

The serial # can be found in 3 places (as I know of): the yellow sheet + on back of the unit + packaging box's lid.

Thank you. Very good

Thank you. Very good information.

Serial# - Nuvi 750

The serial number is on the side panel of the box, and additionally at the multi pin connector on the bottom of the unit. Hold the unit with the connector facing up and the front screen pointing away from you. There will be a decal with 17D0xxxxx at the connector.

I was surprised there is no yellow sheet with this model. When you call Garmin to order Mapsource, have your serial # handy and ask for an unlock code for the maps.

No yellow sheet with mine

No yellow sheet with mine either. Curious as to how we will update the maps.

Don't feel bad about having

Don't feel bad about having trouble finding it. I had exactly the same experience.

No "Yellow Sheet" comes with the 750. And.... the serial number is in mice-type in the connector groove. While that may not be a problem for some of you youngsters with young eyes and great eyesight, for us bi-focal needing, reading-glasses wearing, old folks, it's a real pain to first, find it and second, read it after we find it.

As for the map update, if you have a 750, you have the most current map available. What you are missing, though, is the MapSource software. You will need to call or email Garmin to request the disk for that. With the 700 series, I think they will pretty much send it out for free if you request it.

finding the serial number on the box

I finally found it on the box (I also got no yellow paper in either of the nuvi boxes): side panel, black & orange colors with blue "nuvi" dot in upper right corner: above this, see bar code with "mice-font" number underneath it.

Both of mine started with 2 nums, followed by capital letter, followed by num 0, then five more digits
(total chars = 9)

finding the 750 serial number

I found mine on the outside of the box in the form of a series of numbers under a bar code. No directions anywhere in or on the box. It was just a lucky guess because I tried all the other numbers and methods mentioned by others. This finally worked. Be prepared to spend about 4 hours on this whole process.

Serial Number

My 660's S/N is under the flip up antenna on the back. Aren't they all back there someplace?
