I just installed a nav unit into my xc90 volvo. Starting to get use to it. Any pointer on using GPS and how to be safe?
Safe from what? Pointers would require that we know what type of unit you have.
As far as safe, I would just say mount it in a good viewing location. By this I mean not directly in your line of site where you can't see the road. For example up high in the middle of your windshield is a bad idea. I mount mine low almost touching the dash in the middle of the windshield.
Also, always take it down when you leave the car. Not only will the sun not bake it's internal electronics but it will still be in your car when you get back. I'm sure a lot of these get stolen because the user lets everyone that walks by see it sitting in the window saying " Steal Me ".
This is a great board with a lot of great people that will be glad to help any way they can. If you have any questions at all just post and someone should answer it rather quickly.
Welcome to the board !!!!!
