Garmin Nuvi 200W

I bought a Nuvi 200w last week and noticed that the voice prompts tells you to turn left and turn right when the road changes from a undivided to a divided road (and vice versa). You can look ahead and see clearly that there are no turns needed but the silly unit prompts to turn left and turn right instead of saying divided/undivided road ahead. Other GPS units do not give this type of false info. I called Garmin about this problem and some wise guy at their tech support told me to turn off the voice prompt! Good job Garmin!

turn or stay?

Garmin Nuvi 200W

It actually says turn left and turn right when I am going from an undivided section of a road to divided section and vice versa. Does not say stay right or left unless you are merging from one road to another.

Thanks

Try a different voice.

Try a different voice.

It does not make any

It does not make any difference with different voice or language. That thing is programmed wrong and Garmin has to fix it.

Garmin Nuvi 200W

I called Garmin again to-day. After talking to tech support who asked me to update the the Nuvi and re-set the unit twice with no change in the way it was prompting to turn left and right on a straight road.He finally acknowledged that there is probably an error in the way the map has been programmed and asked me to return it to Garmin for a replacement unit. I guess persistance pays off!
Thanks
