hi how accurate is this site? sometimes i put an address on google maps and the result was a little off on the actual place.

Accuracy of batchgeocode

I found it to do a reasonable job. For my purposes, the icon does not need to be On Top of a target just near enough to be on the screen so I don't have to change my mapview and search.

When it does not find an address or "misses" it is due to a variety of factors including a mistake in the street address or an omission of a directional designation or road type, alternative street names, nonexistant ie unplatted street names not yet drawn on the map, new zip code alignments that change city names. It also does not do well with highway numbers which are recent development and not yet available on maps.

Before I enter addresses in the coder, I manually look over all my addresses for obvious potential problems.

Just remember how GPSrs work, and those "little surprises" won't be surprises.

Haven't used it in awhile. However, be careful and check the coordinates. If you are running a batch and it doesn't find the specific location you are looking for, it will give you the coordinates by it's best guess, i.e. if it doens't find the street, it may give you the coordinates at the center of the zip code or city.

Precision

I just added Geocoding to GeePeeEx Editor. I had to put in a 'Required Precision' option for this reason.

I couldn't really see anything beyond "street" being acceptable for our uses.
