partner with a company that can get their street maps up to date. Three plus years with streets not mapped is ridiculous.

new technology takes time to

new technology takes time to develop, right? anyone remember the first inernet? the first computer? look at how long it took them to develop. 30 years or so right? look at how quickly GPS has developed, it was first used by the public in 1989 or so right? 15 years compared to over 30+ is quite good in my opinion. respect the technology and the time it takes to develop.

why aren't we driving cars that hover around? flying cars, skateboards, robots that do everything for us.

our imaginations are much more advanced and greater than our abilities.

Technology

Anyone else remember the future as shown at the 1964 Worlds Fair? Chrysler was showing a turbine powered car that ran on alcohol and was just years away from production. Others promised intelligent high speed roads where the travel was centrally controlled without the driver's assistance. That was over 40 years ago.

OpenStreetMap

I would love to be able to use OpenStreetMap (http://www.openstreetmap.org/) as an alternate/additional map source. I know of road realignments happening now that probably won't be done in time to make it in the *next* map release from Garmin.

December

According to the pres release on Garmin's site:

"Beginning in December, Garmin will make three MAD MAPS product lines available for download at www.garmin.com"

I learned that there is a way to load OpenStreetMap data as a supplemental map:

They Should

Thats not the mapping companys fault Thats your state county and township for not turning in the roads that have been discontinued tore out or the new roads being put in if they dont turn that in to the mapping company they dont know that they put a new highway in by your house or a new housing developement with new streets for example
