Map segment association with Image file

I recently purchased the Garmin Topo 2008 DVD and I am wondering if there is a way to find out which image file name is associated with what map segment in Mapsource.

The name in Mapsource (e.g. Moab,UT-CO East) does not provide the image file name (e.g. 00162774.img) that you see in the Windows Explorer.

Is there any way to find out the association so I know what file name goes with what Mapsource segment?

Thanks

I don't know how it's done but...

There's a Yahoo! group call "map_authors", where you might be able to find the answer to this. There's at least one file there (called Topo_West_Names) that has a partial listing. There might be others, or there might be someone who knows how they're 'extracted'.
Here's a little bit of the one I found:

MpSrcIMG\Topo\West:
Topo100USW.img US Topo Basemap - We (C)
05618767.img ABERDEEN, SD (EAST) (C)
05617593.img ABERDEEN, SD (WEST) (C)
05619900.img ABILENE, TX (EAST) (C)
05618213.img ABILENE, TX (WEST) (C)

That's the sort of thing you mean, isn't it?

Topo 2008 image file association

Hornbyp

That is exactly what I was talking about. Great find, thanks.

I will check out the Yahoo group you mentioned to see if I can find out more. It sounds promising.

Thanks a lot!

In case someone is interested...

FYI

After Hornbyp pointed me in the right direction, I did some more digging around and found a person who had done exactly what I needed. He did it using a Perl script, that he wrote, for extracting the map names from the image files. I used the script and it worked great. I now know the association of the 6000+ map names and image files for the Garmin Topo 2008 map.
