Includes 3170 locations in the following areas:

  • United States: AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA, WI, WV, WY
  • some may be in: MEX (near a border)

As I drive around the country, I like to make notes of things and places that impact me as a truck driver. In this mainly unedited file, I have listed truck stops, speed zones, scales, Wal Marts, and other stuff. In this file, "ts" is for truck stop. "fuel" or "f" is for a place that sells fuel, but no sit down restaurant. "g" or "gravel" is for a dirt or gravel place to park a truck. "dq" for Dairy Queen (with truck parking), and "wm" for Wal Mart. If ?? is in the description, I'm not sure if you can park a truck there. If you find out, please let me know. I've also listed gravel lots, some speed limit changes, and a few other goodies like the BB Buffet in Darlington, SC. I don't guarantee the accuracy or usefulness of this file, but it's been handy for me. If you have your own trucker's notes, e-mail me. I'd love to compare notes.

Well, after driving local, and then doing a computer deployment, I'm back to OTR. Driving roads I haven't been down since I started this, I have added a lot of places. I think you'll find this file most handy if you first download and install the POI files on this web site for all the major truck stops and scales.
