Sooooooooooo Dependent

I had to send my Nuvi back to Garmin b/c of a bad power button. I had no idea how dependent on it I had become until I almost got lost taking my daughter to her preschool this morning. Seems that I do not pay much attention to the route I am taking anywhere I just let Jack lead me along, lol.

This happens

to me too!!

Not doing anything worth a darn.

SOOOOOOO Dependent

I sometimes carry my Nuvi 660, Street Pilot 7200 and the built in unit in my car simultaneously. Never know when you will have a double failure and need that third unit to get home.

Always lost, a natural blonde...

I think I've become a blonde just from relying on my GPS. I don't travel without it, EVER, and I, like you, find myself getting off track driving locally if I'm not really focusing on where I'm going...lol...

I thought I was the only one.

It does change your behavior!

Now, when visiting a new place, I no longer get a paper map and study it... I've found though, that a good way to get familiar quickly with an area is to use the 2D display, set to "North on top". Once I get my bearings, I switch back to 3D.

Let's Sponsor an encounter group..

Persons with GPSr withdrawal. :+)

It's not a very clever name ( PWGW ) but we could have some fun with it.

Now, how do I convince my better half that she should get her own GPSr?

Wife needs her own

I am presently trying to convince my wife that she should take my 350 as her GPS while I buy a new 750, so that we have a backup, we can have an extra to let visitors use, she would have one while attending conferences etc.......... so far not making much headway. Trying to decide whether to just buy it and suffer a few nights on the couch!!!

Ouch, I hear that

Somehow it's easier for her to just call me on my cellphone and get the directions from me and my GPS friend.

I like the "spare" GPSr idea though.
