I'm new to the GPS arena, and recently purchased a Garmin C330. One thing I'd like to be able to do is save my current location (wherever that may be at the time) as a saved location. Is this possible? Does anyone know the procedure with this unit?
Thanks

I have been looking for the anser to this question my self, and as far as I know, the answer is no you can't.
I have a Streetpilot i3 and
I have a Streetpilot i3 and if I hold the scroll wheel button in for a sec. or 2 it saves the current location and I can then name it what I want. This is a handy feature in obscure locations which I deal with on occasion. I have the feeling you may be able to do something similar on the C330.

The C330 is totally touch-screen except for a volume dial, so not sure what its equivelant to a scroll wheel button would be. I downloaded the manual for your unit, and - sure enough - there are actual instructions for what you describe. Not so with my unit. I'll keep messing around with it, as maybe it's an "easter egg" type deal. I can't believe that they'd leave such a basic (and useful) feature out, but who knows?
Thanks
YES YOU CAN
As I am reading this, my Pain meds are kicking in (Broken Elbow)
Ask me another day, and I'll tell you how to do it.
But the simple answer is YES...

Don't know if this helps, but on the C530 you just touch the car in the center of the map and it will ask if you want to save that location.

Tracy, a broken elbow? That sounds quite painful and I don't blame you for giving in to the pain meds.
Anyway, I'd love to hear your solution when you're back among the land of the living. Now, I'm guessing that it has something to do with foregoing my actual "home" location, and using this feature to set my "current" location as my "home" location. This is the only obvious way I can see of accomplishing it, but this is just me speculating.
Found it!
OK, not covered well (if at all) in the manual, but still pretty obvious once you start playing around. Here's the procedure for anyone who is interested:
1) When you're sitting at your chosen physical location, go to the main screen, and touch "Where To"
2) Touch "My Locations"
3) Touch "Save" on the lower right corner of the screen where your saved locations are listed
The machine will ask you if you want to save your current location as a Favorite. Of course you do, silly.
The only klunky part is that it assigns a numeric name to your newly-created location by default, but you can always edit it.
Anyway, that's it. Whew!! It was quite a little obsession for a while there.
saving current location
Go to "Browse Map" then click save for your current location; edit the name and symbol.
