Map update, Find anything new??

I just got done updating my Nuvi 660 to Map 2007 and I can't find anything new..

There were new homes built behind me and they've people have been living in them for over a year and those roads aren't in the new maps. A state route extension that opened last year still isn't in there.

POI's are still WRONG!! Can you believe Chi Chi's mexican restaurants are still in there? Lots of POIs missing and none existent ones in there. It's funny, but unless I see one in there that I already know exists and where it's located, I don't trust the POIs Garmin preloaded.

Now, if POIs weren't to get updates, then it's my fault for complaining about them, but on the cover of the Map update DVD, it states of 6 million Points of Interests. To me, that says they were updated... How wrong can I be...

BTW, do you remember that Garmin commercial that had the guy driving with a C340 or something saying how much he loved his Garmin because it found him awesome Chinese food and rerouted him from traffic? Well, I can confirm that commercial is completely WRONG! It found me a Chinese restaurant that didn't exist, it found me a Mexican place that wasn't there either. As for traffic alerts... Garbage! Not a alert to be seen or found but the radio station was telling me traffic was a crawl.

Sorry about the rant, and I can rant on, but for me, this Nuvi seems only good at telling me where I'm located. Even it's directions are sometimes crazy.. On more then one occasion, it's had me drive off a highway onto a side street then put me right back on the highway at the next exit. Believe me, it wasn't because of a traffic alert either.

Ooops, I originally started writing this because I just wanted to know if anyone that's updated their map has found any differences and to let those that can't get the free update to not worry about missing anything.

nope me neither grrrr

nope me neither grrrr

Noticed a few changes, but

Noticed a few changes, but then considering the amount of data spread over North America, guess it would be hard to notice a great deal. As they have to be behind due to lead time for production, and verification and the like, it will NEVER be up to date. As has been said before, the paper maps are no better, in fact very few have POI's. That's what makes this site so great...

I have seen a lot of stuff

I have seen a lot of stuff around me. As stated before in other threads, it seems that they add faster then take away old ones.

Noticed?

What I have noticed is there are a couple of subdivisions that are 3-5 years old and they are still not in the new version.

tried map error report form?

More a question than anything else, but have you tried putting the new/changed info into the garmin map error report form?

There are several newer roads in my area that aren't in the 2008 maps. (newer meaning from 2 to 5 years old) I entered them into the map error page, and hope that they will be fixed in the 2009 version.

Is that most likely not going to happen?

Depends

It could take a year or two. But every little bit helps.
