Elks Campgrounds

I don't have a list of campgrounds, but would be interested in the list if you have one - and I could create the POI. I have a complete listing of Elks Lodges throughout the US available as a POI. You can also visit www.elksfinder.com to see the beta of a site I'm putting together to find all of the Elks lodges. Comments greatly appreciated.

Miss POI

On the noted file there are some descriptions showing E for electric available
W for water available
etc.
This info did not come through with the download from this site nor the names and other data. Any chance this data can be copy and pasted from the discovery file to downloaded file and reissued?

Which Elks file on the DiscoveryOwners.com page has the E and W designations? The text file I downloaded doesn't have that data. If you can provide the file name I will redo the csv file when I get a chance.

My mistake. I relooked at the file I built and it does have most of the E, W, P data included. I will work at adding the E, W, P data for those locations which did not have it. There were a few that I found with a quick look. I looked on my GPS and the information does show up. What model of GPS are you using? It may be that I need to change the text Elks Lodge in the file to just Elks so that the information will show on smaller screen GPS units.

I am using a Garmin C340. I have not yet downloaded this file to my unit so I am not sure what if anything will show up in the description.
I did however look at your .csv file in POI EDIT and nothing shows up in the description column......
Appreciate you working on this, I use the Elks a lot on our RV travels.

After loading file onto my c340 the descriptions do appear, although somewhat cramped. Would be nice to have the city though.

I found a problem in the CSV file. In Excel there was a D column that had a format associated with it but no data. I removed the format from that column and all of a sudden the information showed up in POI Verify. You learn something new everyday.

I also found that in POI verify it only looks at the data in the first three columns of a CSV file. That makes it not handy for verifying many of the CSV files found on this site.

I also would love to get a list of Elk campgrounds. Since many lodges allow RV parking, even if they don't have other RV facilities, I'd love to get a gps listing of all lodges, not just campgrounds. Dan

Just go to the POI files and download the ":Elk Lodges" file.
I use it when traveling in my RV.

Just look in the POI Files for this file. "Elk Lodges in the USA"
I use it all the time and reload the corrections faithfully.
