Upgrade help

Hello everyone! I'm new to posting to the site, and I hope someone can help me with a technical question. I am about to get a new c550 (I already have a c530 for work that is going to my sister) and would like to know if there is any way to transfer my favorites from the old unit to the new one. I have a bunch saved in several states, many of which I don't have addresses for. I have connected my c530 to my computer, but don't see any "Favorites" folder or anything else obvious that I could save and transfer. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!!!

I think I know of one way - upload your favorites to Mapsource from your C530 - then download from Mapsource to the C550.

OK...I may need some help with that... I didn't get any Mapsource program disks with my unit. Should I have gotten some? Thanks!!!

I bought a C550 on 1 Jul 07 and it didn't include any disks. I emailed Garmin support and they shipped me the Mapsource DVD ( at no charge)when I provide the serial number of my unit.

Call or e-mail Garmin and request a "Mapsource" disk "for your computer" so you can manage files for your GPS. They "may" ask for GPSr purchase info - I'm not sure !

Or you can copy the current.gpx file from the 530 to your computer and then copy that file to the 550.
Or you can use EasyGPS which is a free program to transfer the waypoints.
