temperature display

I have noticed that a temperature is being displayed on the main menu screen (top center). Is this coming from MSN Direct? If so, where?

That would be cool to have

I use a nuvi 650 with the GTM20 traffic receiver but I don't get any temperature display anywhere.

Maybe I should have purchased the MSN Direct.

Temperature Sensor

When I go to the diagnostics screen on my nuvi 200 it shows two temperatures. Since the 200 doesn't have a radio receiver it must be measuring the temperature directly.

Temp on Diagnostics Screen

I believe that is the internal temperature of the GPSr, not the ambient temperature.

I've seen it too

I've seen it on the 680. It showed in the 90 while the car was 72 inside so I don't think it from inside. I think it is from MSN direct and I think it is transmitted via FM stations outside of the main areas because I see the local weather from small cities that do not have traffic coverage. Can someone confirm?

Nope

I don't know what you are seeing, but you are NOT seeing temps on the 200.

The Zumo 550 gets it from XM, the 580/680 gets it from MSN.

PS: MSN is horrible.

.

If you go to the diagnostics screen on the Zumo, it will show an internal temperature.

Temp on nuvi 200

I am pretty sure my nuvi 200 is reporting internal temperatures. The screen says temp and degrees F. My nuvi is out in the car so I can't check the actual temps it is reporting.

The Nuvi 200 does show temperature on the diagnostic screen (I am looking at it right now.) There is a Temp 1 and a Temp 2 line, both of which are showing 33ºC. Don't know what the 2 different temperatures are but they are definitely internal.
