First of all ... Proceed with caution. Be sure you know exactly what you are looking at.

With your nuvi hooked up to your computer, look in the POI folder for the GPI files. The Fodor file probably is named Fodor.GPI. Any Custom POIs you have loaded will be in a file named POI.GPI.

If you don't want the Fodor's info on your unit, you can delete that Fodor.GPI file. My recommendation would be to COPY it to your computer so that you will have a backup just in case something goes wrong.

Don't delete or move any other files unless you know what they are.

I may be mistaken

I may be mistaken but I think they can be deleted using POI Loader and telling POI Loader to delete all POI files OR just simply loading new POI files . I know that works on my C330

Sorry MM - your post was too quick - you're good !!!!

660 POI

Thanks for the response

I tried this and it was still there when I rebooted te 660. I will try the other method later as I am still new with it and do not want to completely screw it up just yet.

Thank you for your comment and advice

not really important but would like to clean up and have only what I use on the screen

Thank you

Hmmm ... since I don't have this file, I'm just taking shot in the dark, but you might want to do a gloabal search on the entire garmin drive for all gpi files. See which ones are there. These files are the Custom POIs in their various forms. If there is any file other than the POI.GPI file, try moving this file onto your computer from your nuvi and see if this makes the Fodor stuff go away.

I tried to find the data for the sample Travel Guide that came with my Nüvi 310 and failed...

I came to the conclusion that it must be embedded in the firmware image.

Toooo Bad

I too would like a clean system and rid things I do not use.

Maybe Garmin will allow use to do this in future software changes and upgrades via POI loader or other means.

Thanks for your help on this subject

What is the Fodors Sample

What is the Fodor's Sample Data? When I select Fodors sample Data on my 66O I get nothing.

How old is the Fodors Data?

Maybe it would get better reviews if it was current and if it had more sites. gpsmagazine had a good review. I don't think they liked it either.
I can see why people want to delete the files. I would trade my fodors, the savers guide, language guide, and movie times for the AAA Travel Guide.
People might buy something useful like that.

I agree. Garmintech, any future plans?

Good Idea

Choices are good, spur competition and raise the level of features and service available to us.

The AAA travel guide serves a broader area then Fodors

Ask and you shall receive

It looks like Magellan beat you to your idea. ( http://www.gpsmagazine.com/2007/05/review_garmin_travel_guid... )

Scroll down to the comments at the end of this review. There are some pretty cool pictures here too.
