Did you get a free update to 2008 maps?

I received the map update without request. I didn't ask for it but I'm glad to have it. I'm a corporate pilot and have noticed a few (not many) but a few inconsisties here and there, perhaps this will help.

Still a great product, I would travel without it!

I dealt with Lucinda, a very helpful, patient, and knowledgeable representative.

The only reason I am popping out of lurk mode is to praise the Garmin customer service. They need to give Lucinda a raise in pay!

I just purchased a nuvi 350 this past weekend and I just wanted to confirm a few things.

1. I noticed that I have the City Navigator NA v2008 maps installed. This is the most recent I assume, so that is awesome!

2. I have an unlock code here as well. I assume that this is for the DVD version of the maps that I can use with MapSource? I would like to request this DVD (maps and MapSource) so I can start to
compile and manage some POI libraries that I want to create. Please let me know what information you need from me. Below you will find my login and nuvi information.

I have now ordered you the DVD for City Navigator 2008. This is only 1 disc as mapsource is the program that runs the maps thus only 1 disc is necessary. 2008 is the latest.

FM traffic and MSN direct are not the same? I know you have to subscribe MSN direct but i am not sure about FM traffic. So, if you want both options, you have to subscribe both? Can you tell me how much for each subscription? Thank you

I bought my Nuvi 200 in January 2008 - days ago.

Are all maps "City Navigator L48 NT 2008" the same or are there versions of this product?

I actually did an update over the internet of maps and was surprised to find abnormalities afterwards. An exit that did not register, a turn onto a highway showing turn left when the turn was right.

I did not drive over the same area very much, but could the update I made have given older maps than what I got with the unit?

You can't update the maps over the internet.

Perhaps you updated the firmware?

But that won't affect the maps.

Are you saying that things are different now on the unit from before you did the update? Or was it that way before and you didn't notice it until now?

And there's only one version of the v2008 maps.

Map updates are made using a disk that you would get from Garmin. No updates available via the internet unless something recently changed. Current map up date City Navigator North America NT 2008.

My understanding that the latest map is City Navigator North America NT 2008.

I received a 350 for Christmas - Dec 2006. I requested a map upgrade three times and was told that did not qualify. Really!

My first unit (2730) I got a free update.

My "OEM" unit on the GoldWing came with an outdated map. The newer map was out and available long before I purchased the GoldWing but neither Mother Honda nor Garmin seems to care, they want $200 for the current maps.

I just purchased a Zumo550 to use on the Goldwing since the OEM unit is so limited.

c330/c550 bought late nov. early dec. / 1st email=worthless discount/ 2nd email=shot down, claimed info was good enuff for most users (i told them i drive otr, did they read the email? does that qualify as most? come on!) 1st phone call- csr Josh Moruan- profesional, polite, knowledgable, saved my thoughts on Garmins cust serv. 2 updates 4 $60 delivered. I asked 4 a discount, he got me a good one.

I just got the update for my C330. I had to jump thru all the hoops - First "no" then "half price" then "OK". The next problem is that this computer doesn't have a DVD drive, I'll have to do the update at work.
