I know my XXL 540 is obsolete and no longer "supported". With that said, the maps still update and it serves my purpose just fine so I still use it. However, several months ago, the RDS-TMC stopped retrieving traffic data. It shows as being connected but the little icon just spins and it never connects to retrieve the data. TomTom support couldn't even tell me if the service is still out there. They suggested I try a different RDS-TMC cord. I bought a brand new cord and nothing changed. They now want me to do a factory reset of my unit. I'm a little hesitant to do that but I thought I would check on here first to see if anyone has had the same issue and found a fix. Apparently, a file titled mctx.dat on the device is what allow the service to work. There are several discussion out there about how to manipulate this file. Those discussions are generally over my head. Just wondering if anyone in the US is still receiving traffic data on their device.
