gentle rain

Here in Albuquerque in the desert Southwest, we get little rain, but it often comes violently fast. Once in a while we get a long gentle rain. Two related local terms for that sort are "female rain" or "she-rain". Just had a nice stretch of that yesterday.

no rain for a couple of weeks

have to keep a close eye on the garden and things growing in large pots, my fig tree is about 30-40 ft high and just about that wide and loaded with figs, i guess pruning last winter paid off
