Anticipation Is Making Me Wait

How do you keep it from updating automatically this long? If Oh I understand you have it set for manual updates, not automatic. But if I wait more than two or three weeks with my iPhones or iPads set for manual updates, they tend to force the issue. That's okay with me. I personally would not want to stick on 16.7.2 for security reasons.

I'm probably one of a few

I'm probably one of a few that has failed the take a bite of the Apple (computer). I'll have to modify my post a bit as back in the day, about 1983, my first and only Apple computer was an Apple IIe computer. In short order I upgraded to a IBM compatible, an AT&T 6300 computer. and I've since stuck with what was formerly termed "IBM PC compatibles".

I built the last couple of computers from parts, case, drives, monitors, that I bought and assembled together on my own. The beauty of this method is you can build a computer according to your want, needs and specs.

Apple Has Released IOS 18.5 And iPadOS 18.5

I have used traditional computers because most things in my amateur radio hobby work with regular computers, not Apple devices. I know some partition Apples and run Windows, but that seems like a nuisance.

For smartphones, we have been Android until last fall. With the newer Apple iPhones having satellite texting, I bought a Canadian Apple iPhone 15. It does work. I was on the Colorado River in Topock Gorge with no terrestrial connectivity. I was able to send a text,

However, after the T-Mobile Direct To Cell matures a bit more, I will likely return to Android.
