Drupal???? (solved)

I did a Windows 10 update last week and now whenever I attempt to access POI Factory using Windows 10 I get content to install something called “Drupal”. Access to the POI Factory site is prevented. An online search indicates the following

“Drupal is a free and open-source content management system (CMS) and platform. It's used to create and manage websites, online directories, e-commerce stores, intranets, and other digital content.”

Is anyone else experiencing this? Any workaround besides using my iPad?

Solved:
"It's unrelated to anything on your web browser or computer."

Browser?

What browser are you using? I would try a different browser first or see if there is an update for your browser.

I typically use Firefox. I just checked on my Windows 10 desktop and don't have any issues accessing this website. I keep my computer current with updates.

I was using Chrome but now I can report it is working fine.

Unrelated to your web browser / PC

The "Drupal" message shows when there's a spike in web traffic that exceeds the capacity that's available from POI Factory's web hosting service. It's unrelated to anything on your web browser or computer.

This used to be a very rare occurrence, but it's become more common as impolite web crawling BOTS scrape content without respecting the "speed limit" that's posted in POI Factory's robots.txt file. Instead of waiting a short time between pages, poorly behaved BOTS request pages as fast as they can and essentially create a "denial of service" situation.

We use tools to block a lot of this traffic, but like many things these days, it's an escalating arms race.

It usually takes a few minutes for the issue to resolve, so a good rule of thumb is to wait 10 minutes and then try again.

If you're interested in learning more, Ars Technica posted an article back in March that seems somewhat related.

So did it work fine on it's own or can you tell us what you did in case anyone experiences the same thing.

FWIW I only use windows 10 to access this and most internet sites and never heard of Drupal, until this thread.

Same issue but fixed on it's own per JM's post.
