New Trailer

We just acquired a "new" trailer. For the past 10 years we've camped across the US and across Canada to reach Fairbanks, AK using a little teardrop trailer. We loved it but we're getting older and my wife wanted something she could stand up in to dress, something with a place other than the bed to relax when it rains or snows, and something with it's own toilet so she didn't have to trundle down to a campground toilet.

We were looking at an Escape trailer made in Vancouver. I specced out what I wanted and a 19' trailer was going to be north of $56k. Ouch! For a 19' trailer??? My wife found one that's only 5 years old, has almost all of the mods I wanted and a number of them I hadn't included in my spec due to the cost. It was "only" $35.5k. We jumped in the truck, traveled from northern California to New Mexico, and bought it. Now all of a sudden I need to include "different" types of sites in my searches for places to stay. In the past we avoided anything with hookups, etc. but now I need larger sites, dump stations, etc. Guess I need to check out some new POI files. Surely there are some here with the info I need.

we went to

Perkasie, PA, odd place for us, and encountered some red light cams on the trip that didn't seem to have alerts. Again, my wife said she cannot understand why I would even care. Her logic--how many tickets have you ever gotten before?

Answer: 1, in 2002. lol

p.s. I looked up the first one and it went active 3/14/25, and is still within the 60 day written warning grace period. I will see what I can find and email the mods.

p.p.s--Bingo!! Both RLCs are in the same township, and both are new as of 3/14/25....

Waiting for summer

we

went to NW Phila, then Cherry Hill, NJ.

A tree fell across all lanes but one, of 76E. Amazing nobody was hurt. This is when poor driving really comes out, with folks passing everyone on the shoulder, or exiting and reentering to bypass traffic (road design should prevent this but it does not). Never seen these tricks deployed except in PA. Very strange. Doesn't work in NYC or DC.

Another Exciting Day...

Have an appointment for truck maintenance at 10:30. Need to go to Costco for a prescription refill. The excitement is boundless...

Congratulations on getting your new trailer! I don't know how far you are from Arizona, but AZ has some nice State Parks that offer a 'good bang for the buck'. Most of the AZ state parks have full hookups minus sewer connection; but they do have dump stations. We sold our 19 ft trailer about a year ago because of health issues (wife and I are 90 and 87. We've been RVing since the late 1960s in every type of RV ... it's a shock to the system to abruptly stop!)

Enjoy your new trailer. Do what you want to do while you can 'cause there comes a time when you can't.
