RO system vexations
I operate two Reverse Osmosis systems. I run far more water through them than does a normal household, as I not only supply my humidifiers from them in winter, but also the evaporative coolers in summer.
Recently I've been pulling my hair out trying to understand, or at least fix, bad behavior. When first plugged in the pump runs smoothly for a few seconds as the pressure ramps to 95 psi, then severe vibration sets in, with pressure dropping into the 70s or 80s, then it gets calmer but with pressure down to 35-45 PSI, with the resulting badly reduced output flow and impaired purity.
I think I may have accomplished the rare feat of running so much water through the RO membrane and filters that flow resistance is up so high that the bypass on the pump is activating.
Tomorrow I should find out, as I plan to install an entire new RO system I mistakenly bought in 2022 when I misdiagnosed a furnace room leak as from the system, and kept on the shelf ever since.

The same amount of traffic. The politicians get rich. The regular folk get more poor.
better, but not understood

The new system is installed, and working. But the (same) pump is generating a higher pressure than I saw before, so my theory of what was going wrong is dangling in the wind. Now I'm just worried that I'm applying 115 psi to a system that is only rated for 90, and not at all sure what happens when I turn the adjustment screw on the pump.
While I worry, I'm getting higher quantities of purer water (the expected outcome of higher pressure across the membrane) which is nice.

Boise to SLC and back
Just returned from taking my mom to Salt Lake City for his surgery. She currently lives in a small town about halfway between here and there. The weather was a bit crazy on the drive and then worse when we got there. The morning of her surgery I had to find the hospital, which is on the side of a mountain, during a blizzard. It was only supposed to take 12 mins to drive from the hotel to the hospital entrance, mostly due to snowy conditions and congested traffic, but also because garmin was confused about where the entrance was. To be fair they've been doing a lot of construction, so it was understandable, but stressful.
Surgery went well, although they found she had a fracture in her femur that had not been seen on imaging, so the surgery took an extra hour and half. I wasn't impressed with the nursing staff. I'm sure they're doing the best they can, but I had to learn about her after surgery transport and care by watching Youtube because they didn't bother to go over instructions with me at discharge.
She's now home and has my sibling nearby as well as an in home care person who's there for a few hours each day to help.
I'm happy to be back in Boise.

Angela, sorry to hear about your mother, glad she is getting better.
I know the area you are talking about and I still have a hard time getting there because of all the new construction.

Road Trip
Sudden road trip. We sold the little teardrop trailer we've been using for camping for the last 10 years and my wife has been looking for something a little larger. (She wants to be able to stand up to dress, have a nice place to sit when it rains, and have a toilet. Go figure...
)
We were looking at a new 19' Escape but they are spendy! What I want would be well over $50k and it's only a 19' trailer. She found one that is a 2020 model, looks brand new, has lots of added options, and is listed at $33k. Suddenly we are on a 3 day road trip to New Mexico. Hopefully it's as nice as it looks from the pics. We went from watching The Masters on TV to a road trip in a matter of hours. (Fortunately we could listed to the last day of the Masters on Sirius XM in the truck.
