DriveSmart 76 bug

I recently purchased a DriveSmart 76 EX. I updated it with the latest maps and the firmware (v6.80) was already the latest. But there is a bug in the firmware. When I am on an active route, the green bar at the top of the screen does not show the name or exit associated with the next action. It just says "Driving West" (or whatever direction you are driving). This green bar is Item 3 in the owner's manual, pages 27-28, and is supposed to show the name or exit associated with the next action.
I have several other Garmin GPS units (DriveSmart 65, Nuvi 3490, 3597) and they all show the name or exit associated with the next action, as you would expect.
Has anyone else noticed this on the DriveSmart 76 (or 66, 86)?
I'm not familiar with the
...DS76 EX but I think that device has selectable orientation. So I wonder if your display varies with the orientation. Most images with the action bar details show landscape orientation.

On my DS65..
On my DS65 "when on a route" I don't get identification of the next crossroad. I have always accepted this as normal given I don't need to know what's next.
The "next" is very much a hit and miss and seems to vary with every update. Showing minor intersections as next, skipping major ones.. and frequently just tells me driving on XXX road.
