Yesterday was a bad coffee day

I ground my coffee beans to make 4 cups of coffee. I poured the ground up coffee beans into my pour over coffee maker. There were a few grounds left in the coffee grinder cup, so I used my finger to place the coffee grounds together. As I was moving the cup from the coffee grinder to the pour over coffee maker, I accidentally tipped the pour over coffee maker over. A bunch of ground coffee spilled over. I cleaned up the mess, and proceed to pour hot water over the remaining grounds. Of course the filter had a hole in the bottom. I was left with a large mug full of coffee grounds and water. I put the remnants of the broken filter into another filter and proceeded to pour the coffee with the grounds. The pour over coffee maker got clogged. So I poured the unfiltered remnant into a French Press. I ended up with a big mess, and 3 cups of watered down coffee. I had to use instant coffee to make the coffee strong enough.

Lesson Learned:
I should have thrown out all the grounds, and the used coffee filter. Sometimes it is better just to start over. Salvaging a big mess is more trouble than it is worth.

When the morning, starts out this way, the rest of the day is not much better.

Today I just decided to make instant coffee. Maybe tomorrow I will go back to making regular coffee.

I feel better for writing this.
