Can I delete the 2008 map files from PC after update?

Last night I updated my Nuvi with the 2008 NT update and as a part of the update it copied 1+ GB of *.img files onto my laptop. Are these temp files and hence can be removed to free up the space?

I dont see why not you already loaded your Gps and you have the CD to Reinstall at anytime

You don't want to delete img

They are probably backup files of the previous version. So, yes, I don't see any reason not too.

trash it or back it up to CD

trash it or back it up to CD or DVD if you aren't totally sure..but as long as you have the new maps on cd you should be MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!
