Drought!

I mowed yesterday. Because we are in our third consecutive year of drought, it is only the 9th time I have mowed all season, the first time being in early April. It really didn't even need mowing except to control the weeds and clean it up for leaf pickup which will start in the next couple of weeks. In a normal Iowa year I would have had to mow at least 20 times by late September. The trees are also showing severe stress. I sure hope this drought cycle ends before next spring. I really feel for farmers and others who rely on the midwest farm industry.

We have the full "beverage package" for all but 7 days mid-cruise. I've lost 42 lbs. since February and don't want to put a bunch of weight back so I'll have to not go crazy with all the food that's available.

Keep us updated when you get a chance. It sounds like a great trip.
