Can anyone tell me why when the map is zoomed in to the most or second most you pass the road before it shows it on the screen. Is this just an issue with map and sats.... thoughts?
sure

Think of being in an airplane....the closer you are to the ground, the faster the ground appears to be moving. When you are at altitude, the ground almost appears still.
Nothing in the gps world is instantaneous. There are delays. A micro second in a signal here, a fraction of a second there, redrawing of the screen, your current rate of speed etc. These are all factors that are in play and you are seeing the result of those delays.
What I do to adjust for this is, in most instances zoom all the way in, then out three times. This puts me at the 500ft zoom level. Any further out and my custom bmp's will not appear. This also gives me most street names where I can see one or two ahead of my position. If I'm looking for a specific street, I will see it before I actually reach it.
