Hi; I'm going on atrip to London & Germany in July and would like to know if there are less expensive map software for the Nuvi 660.
Paying $299 for Europe maps for a few days is kind of expensive...
Thanks
I am unsure of the legality of this...
The Mapsource Metroguide Europe product (010-10370-00) is cheaper at $174.98 but is not routeable on the GPS, only on a PC using Nroute.
However - the guys at http://www.geodude.nl have a workaround that overcomes this difficulty. I have seen this in action(!) and it appears to work fine.
As I said in the title though - I really don't know if you are infringing any (US) laws by doing this.
Metroguide is not locked to an individual unit...

me=660
It is expensive but worth it. I was in the UK last week and the maps are up to US standard = brilliant. I hasten to add that I am currently living in Poland where the maps are not as detailed but still useable (well, just about). $299 sounds like a lot but who knows, you might visit another European country again soon in the future. A good investment I'd say.
London attractions

Also, just had a thought - you might want to download this http://tinyurl.com/2pfr3g
POI file before your trip. It's pre-compiled as a .GPI file and contains some tourist locations (with pictures) for London. I didn't create it - was guy called Brian (that's all I know about him).
It says it's for the Zumo, but works ok on my C510.
It's a nice little plaything, if nothing else

and it works great in the Nuvi ! worth the cost.
Silly Question
I am being asked to go over the pond for a few weeks...do I need to by the Garmin maps in order to use the GOI file listed below?
Thanks!
It's those changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes nothing remains quite the same. With all of our running and all of our cunning, If we couldn't laugh, we would all go insane.
Mobile Planet
I was wondering if any of you have purchased any products from Mobile Planet? They have NT v9 for $157...but with it being this low compared to Amazon etc I am a little suspicious.
Thanks
Scott

I bought a car charger for my Ique 3600 from them. No problems, got everything quick too.
