Keeping The Windmill Alive – January, 2022

Perhaps you can post on a new book you're reading, a new hobby you're taking up or about random finds as you finally get around to cleaning out the..., or your most recent adventure?

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

Please keep comments polite.

This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

Just got back

from the Outer Banks and Roanoke, VA. 75 degrees in the Outer Banks and in the upper 60's in Roanoke. I was going to stay an extra day in Roanoke but they forecasted snow, so I got out of town. Today they have about 3-4 inches on the ground. My sister-in-law tried to get us to stay an extra day because she said that with the warm temperature it would only rain. Changed her tune this morning when she sent my wife a text along with a picture and said that we made the right decision. grin

New Years Trip

We left Murrells Inlet, SC on the 27th heading for Marietta GA to visit son and family. Up 501 to Florence and then I20 into Atlanta. Thankfully the Atlanta beltway was moving right along and we made the trip in 6.5 hours. Enjoyed sitting outside on New Years Eve as the weather was in the 70's. The Weber grill got a workout over the weekend as did the beverage cooler. Returned on Jan 2 and again made the trip in 6.5 hours with no delays. The Garmin came in handy locating both stores we wanted to visit as well as gas stations. Glad it didn't have to be called on for any detours. Happy New Year to All. The Ogre

2022...

Hard to believe it's 2022. I remember when a group of us were talking about George Orwell's book and saying we should all get together somewhere when it got to be 1984. It was still 10 years in the future.

Too Cold

Too cold to go out unless I really need something.

Hard to think...

about Spring already...but we are. Starting a complete irrigation system replacement for the yard this weekend.

Had three major leaks last year. Decided to do a complete system replacement instead of continuing to piece things back together. Leaks always seem to happen at the worst times! Got 12 years out of the original install which isn't too bad for Sin City water rolleyes

Would rather be out traveling and putting the little Nuvi through its paces, but it is what it is grin

Keep it up

18°F right now, but that sure beats the -20°F I frequently experienced mid January when I lived in the upper midwest.
