Perhaps your memory is full. Mine only has about 400MBs left on it with a few POIs. 50 MP3s is about 300+ MBs.

To gain a LITTLE bit of room, you can delete your update files. You can also just get a SD card and put the MP3s on that instead of the internal memory.

thanks , i have tried mp3s on card but how do u find them on unit?? sounds dumb but i can't find them, and i'm pretty good at this stuff, help if you can. thanks

MP3 files

Also, not necessarily in regard to this, but remember the Garmin GPS units only recognize MP3 files. iTunes, I believe, is MP4, and you can rip in a variety of formats.

I don't use the MP3 player on my GPS often, but it's a nice feature. I had ripped a lot of music into MP4 files for my PSP, and then had to convert about 10 gigs of music to MP3, time consuming, but it can be done.

Try this

I'm not sure if this applies but when I load mp3's to my SD card I can put a lot more songs if I put them all in a new folder and dropping them onto the SD card rather than just dumping a bunch on i.e. if you haven’t tried maybe put them in one folder then drop then into the Garmin.

thanks i'll try the folder ,

thanks i'll try the folder , but see don't find sd card on garmin, do see in when linked to computer

mp3 folder

If you go to

My Computer > then double click (or right click then explore) on your GPSr (or SD card) you should have two folders one named "Garmin" and one named "MP3"

If you don't have the folder MP3 create one and place your folders of mp3's in it.
I say folders of mp3's because it works better that way, instead of dumping all the mp3's into the main mp3 folder. You can create different folders such as Artist, Rock, Country, Heavy Metal or what ever you like. These folders will hold the actual mp3's

In other words you will have multiple folders within the main MP3 folder
