Thx for the heads up

Only problem by updating is that some of the APPS I've had for a long time sometimes will not work anymore because the developers don't update the APP!

My experience, only temporary

In my experience (several iPads) I've never found a reputable APP that didn't work after the Apple update. I also typically find some APP updates available within a day or two. I updated yesterday, and today found updates for three APPS.

Yes time to update

Yes time to update immediately for my daily drivers. But for my rarely used devices, I'll wait for iOS 15 to update.

Another week supposedly

Apple's iOS 14.8 was released on Monday, and the small update contains a big security fix. The latest version of Apple's mobile operating system repairs a vulnerability reportedly exploited by invasive spyware called Pegasus that can potentially turn on your phone's camera and microphone, and record messages, texts, emails and calls.

Various sources say version 15 will be out in about a week.

No problems with my iPhone 8+

I downloaded 14.8 on my iPhone 8+ without any visible problems during the download, or since.

IOS 15 is due out 9/20

So, we all did the update - but here we go again.

14.8 & 15.0 different purposes

14.8 was a highly recommended security update; 15.0 is a feature update. Go to https://www.apple.com/ipados/ipados-15/ to see what 15.0 will do for you.

Be cautious about IOS 15

According to an article I saw last week, the released version of IOS 15 is still a beta version, released to meet a marketing deadline, and may well have a significant number of bugs.

I have no knowledge of whether or not this is an accurate statement, but I plan to hold off downloading IOS 15, just as a precaution.

Update to 15.0 was trouble free, took about 40 minutes. The weather app came up as Cupertino CA athough I’m on the East Coast and location services is on. I had to manually set location to get it to stick on my home weather.

Home page icons are smaller than before although using large icons is enabled. The number of columns also varies depending on orientation, 6 columns wide on landscape and 4 in portrait mode.
