Computer chips

I worked in the computer chip industry for over 25 years and when I retired in 2011 there were over 37 chips in a car or truck at that time. Fast forward to today and I am guessing that there are approximately 50 chips in a vehicle today. Could be a few more or a few less, but with all of the safety systems that are on cars today, I would think that it would be closer to the 50 mark. Blind spot detection, rear cross traffic detection, lane assist, adaptive cruise control, etc. All of these systems use chipsets to make them functional.
