McDonald's Closing Restaurants in Walmarts

I live McDonald's has been giving away free crispy chicken sandwiches at least 3 weeks in a row. they have to be making huge profits to simply give away food.

My buddy separates the men from the boys when something is, "no purchase necessary." He thinks bogo is a ploy, 50% off of a high price. But NPN of course they hope you buy more, but it's still something that not all can do.

I never knew Walmarts had McD’s inside. Our two Walmarts have Auntie Anne’s Pretzels and I seldom see a customer getting anything. One used to have a Subway; same thing, seldom had a customer.

I, too, never knew Walmart had McDonalds inside stores. I might go into a Walmart once every year or two. I buy from Walmart's online more often than from in store. It's been years since I ate at a McDonalds.

OK, so now it has been reported that the McD’s are to be replaced by Domino's and Taco Bell. I’m not sure, and “yes” my opinion, but that will not be an improvement. I will still shop Walmart as the need arises, but as before just walk by the food area.

Our Walmart is about 4 miles from the house and is easy to get to on a 3 mile stretch of a 4 lane limited access highway. The inhouse McDonalds closed well over a year & 1/2 ago. The spot stayed empty a long time. They added a Domino's pizza in part of the area that Mickey D's used to occupy just a couple of months ago.

If any users know of the removal of a Mcd from inside a Walmart, I would really appreciate a note regarding the removal. This will help me
in keeping the McD file up to date. Thanks in advance.

This has been going on for years. The McD/Walmart locations around me closed up many years ago.

Thank goodness I don't have to be lured by the aroma of McD French Fries anymore when I'm getting oil filters.

What saved many fast food places? A drive through. I'm sure many food establishments within stores like Walmart suffered due to the reduced traffic. Might be interesting to know if these were company owned or Franchises. Would imagine many with bank branches had similar issues with reduced traffic and people turning to ATM's or branches with drive throughs.

The Ephrata, PA Walmart lost its Subway a while back.

As for McD's in Walmarts, a guy I knew in Houston opened the 1,000th one inside a Walmart several years back. The fanfare included a commemorative t-shirt, which he gave me. I have no idea whether or not that one is still open.

I read the Subway is going away too. We love their pizza and before Covid-19 we would eat there about once a month just before we shopped for groceries.
