we

probably got 2" of slushy snow. At lunchtime I was able to do our driveway, the neighbor's driveway, and 4 houses' sidewalks.

The last 2 storms, someone did my sidewalk, so it felt good to do something in return.

Think we've had 4 storms now this season...

:)

So glad

So glad last week is over. Tired of setting under blankets with the power off. Several days of rolling blackouts, with only 40 minutes to an hour of power and water makes you have to move fast to get anything ready to eat. Then you try to eat fast so you can watch tv while eating. Then it's black again and time to get under the blankets. We had water buckets in the tub to flush! At least we had data on our cell phones and could surf. The only problem is hands getting cold. Fix that by making a tent over my head out of my blankets and surfing under the covers. Each time the power came back on we put our phones on the charger.
I am so glad last week is over. Now if everything goes ok this week will be better. Hopefully getting, the canceled 3 times, 2nd covid vaccine this week and husband getting cancer treatment again this week.
Like I said so glad last week is over and will be glad when this week is nearly over. (O yes, forgot to mention that our heat would only run on Emergency heat when power was on and never got the house above 56 degrees. Can't wait for the electric bill!) (And forgot to mention the frozen pipes and well)

Just got a text from daughter that 15 year old granddaughter with Down syndrome just tested positive for Covid-19.
My daughter is having chills but her other two girls seem ok so far. I feel so helpless as we can not do anything for them.

Sorry to hear. We just got notified by the school nurse that our 7 y.o. came in contact with someone and now must be quarantined for 2 weeks. Personally I feel frustrated because the kids are in the care of the public school, and there's an official letter which cites the law and it's from the County Health like we've done something wrong. He actually had an annual dr's visit March 8 which had to be canceled. At the same time they're now talking about 5 day in person school again (this happened when it's hybrid). The sad part is these are real people, real kids, not statistics.

Hope your granddaughter and daughter will be fine, we'll both likely be breathing more easily in 2 weeks...

Yes, hope the two weeks go by fast. I hope your child does well. Hopefully there will be no Covid-19 in you home.
My daughter is on her way to be tested as she is running 102 fever so we should know shortly if she has Covid-19 too. She has 2 more girls and so far they are doing ok. I hope they stay apart from each other but the 4 of them have been together all along so I will be surprise if the 2 other girls don't get it.

A stroke of luck

I've been searching and surfing the web for weeks looking for a Covid vaccination without any success. Every thing I could find was booked solid. I was searching online again this morning when my cellphone rang. It was my family practitioner's office who asked if I had yet had my Covid shot. I explained I had been long searching for an immunization but with no success.

The caller said they had the Moderna vaccine in stock and could set me up for a vaccination as early as tomorrow. A fortuitous stroke of luck just fell into my lap and I have an appointment set up for my first immunization tomorrow morning.

We also received our 2nd dose yesterday (Moderna).
Our arms were very painful, to the point we couldn't raise our arm up last night. I got up at 3am last night and took Tylenol and my arm was so much better in about one hour after taking the Tylenol. I could lift my arm above my head with no problem. The nurse said not to take anything until late the first night. My husband received his Octreotide shot today so he didn't take the Tylenol last night and he couldn't even turn on the turn signal with that arm, I should have driven but that's another story. He took his Tylenol as soon as we returned home today and within an hour his arm was better.
We have no other side effects(hope it stays that way).
