Different colors of text in subject headings

Observant as I am... I just noticed that the subject headings in some of the forums (Garmin) have two shades of blue. Why.. and what does it signify?
Just curious,
Thanks

Just a guess

My guess is that the darker ones are threads you've read,

I'm in agreement.

Probably.. but not something to waste too much time on

Yes the color changes as you open the thread, but it seems to have a "time" function as well. Post that I have commented in show in light blue, sometimes. There is also a small icon (envelope) to the left of the subject that seems to indicate you made replies.. but is not consistent with the color.

I would have thought marking all posts read would reset the lot to.. read, and consequently all the subjects should be the same color.
