I was in the bathroom....drip, drip, drip

That's funny all the cartridges are 2020, sink and shower.

My hunch? Whenever a drip is steady, it's a leak, like it or not.

So I proceed to troubleshoot the shower, even remove the shower head to make sure it's not dumping water that's residual (but again the drip was steady). With it completely removed, still dripping.

Now I redo the cartridge with a new one (we have the old kind where the handle is a teardrop and pulls out to control flow, goes left and right for temp. Most modern ones do not have flow control, just temp control.).

I think I did something smart, assuming it's not the cartridge which is only 4 mos old, maybe there's corrosion inside the faucet (no idea I bet it's from the 60's or 70's). I took a Chinese take out chopstick and cut it into a spear, and cleaned the seat and as much as I could. Long story short, no more drip in the end, but upon reassembly, the shower head broke.

I know it has a lifetime warranty somewhere I saved the receipt (of course could not find it). It wasn't dirt cheap it was $50 on sale at Costco.

So I call the mfg, you know the faucet co. that starts with a K ends in an R and is in Wisconsin.

They don't stock that model (I think it's a big box store type of device, not one a contractor would be installing if remodeling your bathroom).

So what do they do, they say we'll send you the equivalent in four pieces. Yep. The type the contractor would install. The hose itself is metal and lists for $66. If you buy everything on amazon it's $153.

I already know it's a great company, I've had a faucet for 16 years where they've always sent replacement parts like o-rings, snap rings, blah blah blah.

It's great that in a world where say health care is one extreme, something legit is denied, that there is still consumer customer service where it's still the 80's where cos strived for excellent customer service, as if there were (there was) a reward to their business to have satisfied customers. I remember being in college and AT&T Universal Card was a case study in excellent customer service. That was long before the quest for points and cash rewards!

Yep, I'm a customer for life.

Weber grills ++++

I have a Weber with a fully stainless lid, about 11 years old. I never realized it but there is a sheet metal liner inside the lid that isn’t really visible without some effort to see it. The liner on mine had deteriorated to the point where it needed to be replaced. When I called Weber they said the lid was covered under warranty and they would ship me a new one at no charge. Even shipping was paid.

Most of the online part places wanted $350 for the lid plus shipping.

I probably won’t buy another grill in my lifetime (I’m at an age where I don’t buy green bananas) but if I did it would be another Weber.

I have a Weber grill but not stainless steel top I use it year round once or twice a week. Mine is 9 years old. I thought the burners were bad a couple of years ago but looked close and saw they were just clogged up with crude. Took a steel brush and cleaned them and fixed the problem. My grates are original but I have replaced the flavorizers with stainless steel aftermarket from Amazon.
Good product.
