Expert advise needed (Using Bluetooth headset w/ GPS)

hello, I'm hoping that I can hook up a GPS that can use a Bluetooth headset for talking to the GPS or make a call through it with my phone. I see that the Drive Smart line (I have 3 Nuvi's) allows making calls but I haven't seen that a headset can be used.
Any good advise?

Jim

Zumo

I think at least some models in the Zumo series have this feature for integrating with Motorcycle helmet headsets. Hopefully someone more familiar with Zumo will confirm this. AFAIK, nothing in the other Garmin automotive series have this capability.

It might be possible but a few “ifs”

Check the thread at https://www.m-p-c.com/GPS_Bluetooth_Audio.htm

By the way, the device near the bottom made by Anker was available on eBay about six months ago. I have checked recently but the author at the website mentions some alternatives.

I know the very old Zumo 550 is able to use BT via a headset. In usual Garmin fashion later Zumo models did not have some features I found important so I have not upgraded, so I don't know if the newer ones have the ability. Poor old 550 has a lag problem though.

Why not just connect BT to

Why not just connect BT to the phone?
Why go through the GPS to the phone?

What am I missing.

I can use my headset to tell the phone to call "xyz". So I can't see any reason to involve another device.

connect to BT

I want to talk to the GPS as well from inside of a helmet.

thank you all. I'll check

thank you all. I'll check out the devices suggested but I may just have to an earplug in each ear. One for the phone and one for the GPS

i'm using a zumo 665

with a scala rider headset. i have the phone linked to the zumo and the zumo linked to the headset. works ok. the tricky part is making sure the zumo connects to the phone before turning on the scala. it sometimes works if you turn them on in the other order but garmin's bluetooth implementation is dodgy.

also, my scale can connect two bluetooth devices but i like seeing the caller id on the gps screen.
